Ego Lawnmowers Are A Good Choice

Many homeowners are starting to lean towards electric lawnmowers. Many have seen and used the corded lawnmowers and pretty much liked them. Well, there is a new sheriff in town and it is the lithium powered mowers. In this post, I will speak on why I think Ego lawnmowers are a good choice and are the powerhouse behind all mowers.
The Lawnmower Past, Present & Future

The first lawnmower was invented by Edwin Budding in England in the year 1830. It was used to replace the hand tool the Scythe (sickle hand-held tool). The mower was designed to cut sporting fields and extensive gardens and became the tool to use on any lawn. It made cutting grass much easier and that you can bet.
These were cylinder blade mowers which over the years went through upgrade after upgrade. From chain driven to steam driven then eventually push driven. Either way, it was a great product to assist in cutting your lawn.
Over the centuries lawnmowers converted to the rotary blade mower which is turned by a motor and that is what we are used to seeing these days. They eventually made a gas mower small enough to accomplish the task and it was a very successful product.
Then as the environment became an issue the electric mower surfaced to help with the pollution factor. It actually was a good product but a little awkward to use because of the cord. But as with anything else, a change had to follow.
As far as electric mowers go the lithium battery emerged. These batteries revolutionized electric lawnmowers and are probably going to evolve to an even better way to mow your lawn using the electric equipment. But for now, I want to talk about the Ego lawnmower which is a very worthy product.

The Ego Lawnmower Company
The Ego Power Plus company is known for making equipment that has power beyond belief. Their batteries are known to produce a strong amount of juice all the way down to depletion. The equipment they produce is the most advanced rechargeable equipment on the market.
The Ego 20 inch 56-volt Lawnmower

The features of the EGO POWER+ Mower include: Weather resistant construction (ipx4), a 20 inch Deck that reduces the number of passes required to mow your lawn; true 3-in-1 function for superior performance, whether you are mulching, bagging or using the side-discharge chute; and LED headlights for mowing anytime—morning or evening.
The EGO POWER+ Mower makes 30% less noise than a gas powered mower and the compact, foldable design makes storing and cleaning the mower more convenient than any other. And to start it up is as simple as a push of a button.
There are 3 types of battery kits you can purchase with this model and they are 4.0 Ah, 5Ah & 7.5 Ah. They all will give you very good performance but I am going to break down what each battery will do for you as far as runtime and charge time is concerned. The runtime will tell you which one would be best for your size lawn. (Click on the image to the upper right)
While prices may vary the 4 Ah battery will give you a runtime of around 45 minutes while the charge time is about 30 minutes using the rapid charger that comes with the kit. This set up is less than the others for $449.oo.
The 5 Ah battery will give you 55 minutes of runtime and has a charge time of 40 minutes. This also is means if you use the rapid charger that comes with the kit. The cost for this set up is $593.81.
The 7.5 Ah battery will give you a 90-minute runtime and with the rapid charger, it will charge in about 60 minutes. This set up is for if you have a pretty good size yard and it takes you longer than normal. You can purchase this set up for $729.99
The 7.5 Ah battery lawnmower also comes available in a self-propelled model starting at $929.00 and has a runtime of 60 minutes and the charger is a 550-watt charger instead of a rapid charger.
You probably noticed I keep saying the rapid charger battery kit. That is because some chargers are just regular chargers and not rapid chargers. With the Ego equipment, the batteries are usable with the other types of equipment the company makes.
This is actually pretty good because now you can make a fleet of lawn equipment for your use and all the batteries will work together hand in hand. Imagine how you can complete your lawn work with this kind of set up. If you already have some Ego equipment you can purchase just the mower without a battery kit.
The cost of just the mower without the battery would be $314.33.
This mower is very durable and will last you a good time. So if you take away the cost of gas, oils & servicing, the unit will actually average out into savings in the long run.
Below is a video to give you some visual on what this equipment is capable of.
I hope this article provided you with some very useful information. One of the things I always try to stress to homeowners is that lithium lawn equipment is perfect for your situation. It takes away the cost of gas & maintenance and reduces noise.
This selection makes the Ego lawnmowers a good choice to change over to.
I would not recommend this equipment if you are going to try to do multiple yards at a time. But for your personal home use, you can’t beat it.

Wow, where was this when I had a 1/4 acre of lawn to mow…lol! Seriously I had a gas powered lawn mower and I had to fill the tank twice in order to get the entire lawn mowed. I ended up moving to Southern California in the high desert and the house I live in well my yard is nothing but rocks. I plan on moving again to a house that has a lawn, I didn’t think I would miss green grass but I do.
When I do move and need a lawnmower, I will definitely keep your website in mind, in fact, I am bookmarking your website. -
These look great for small yards, but I have about a 2-acre field that I mow with a 48″ zero-turn mower that takes me about 2 hours to do, lol.

Ronnie,
I have almost 2 acres to cut. I use a rider. I do have a rechargeable battery powered weed eater, blower, and trimmer. They all work on the same battery system. I like this very much as no cords, no gas and I do not have to mix gas and oil.
When do you think they will come out with a 48″ or bigger rider that larger yards can do.

Thanks for the informative and helpful post! Much appreciated! I appreciate the visual presentation of the mower which shows the power and capability of the equipment. Kudos!
Thanks for emphasizing the fact that I can purchase the mower without a battery kit once I already have some ego equipment. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome… the end of my yard is always a mess because the cable on the electric mower doesn’t reach! This looks perfect for what I need!
